Tineke Triggs Transforms This Majestic Hillsborough Home

THE PROJECT

A couple with two teenagers owns a 7,000-square-foot Spanish-style home in Hillsborough. It has incredible bones, but the rooms haven’t been updated in over 20 years. With their fast-paced lifestyle and a growing need for modern convenience, the couple knew it was time for a bold transformation.

THE TEAM

The couple selected legendary Bay Area designer and author Tineke Triggs (tineketriggs.com, @tinkeketriggs) for the ambitious project. Triggs tackled two rooms at a time and slowly built trust with her clients for the project. “My approach was to have this house maintain the Spanish bones but feel brighter and more timeless as well as have my clients’ personality,” she says. “Our goal was to make the home feel calming and joyful, allowing the family to feel at peace and relaxed in all the spaces.”
